My First Full Week with CRC

Last week was my first full week with The Christian Retreat Center as the new T.I.M.S. Program Director and it was a great week. It’s exciting to be working, no serving, with such an awesome team of people that loves Jesus, youth ministry, camp ministry, and being outdoors. It’s amazing to be a part of team that is willing to serve wherever needed to make the wheels of CRC go around smoothly. Whether it’s cutting grass, cooking meals for retreat groups, unclogging toilets or putting together mailings everyone does there part regardless of their title or position.

I’m looking forward to learning more about camp ministry (youth ministry done outside) with this awesome team.

 

Let me introduce you to the CRC team God has placed me with:

• Bud Wagner; Executive Director (our fearless leader and hunting enthusiast)
• Jeremy Wagner; Program Director handling everything related to summer camps, specialty camps and Snow Camp (also custom lure painter and hunting enthusiast)
• Melinda Wagner; Administrative Secretary (keeping us all in line with the logistical matters of the camp as well as Top Chef in our camp kitchen)
• Harry Diven; Maintenance Director (master mechanic and all things handy, literally keeping the wheels greased and everything running right)

Why do I believe I’m serving with an awesome camp ministry team? Wait…let me rephrase that. Why do I KNOW I’m serving with an awesome camp ministry team? In John 8:29 Jesus said, “I always do what pleases the Father.” None of us on the team is perfect like Jesus so we don’t ALWAYS do what pleases our Father. But we wake up each day with a deep desire and motivation to do what pleases our Father. Jesus is at the core of what each of does day in and day out at The Christian Retreat Center. We’re striving to grow deep and go wide with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
