One Week Left and CBIC Youth Are Still Rockin’!
One more week…that’s what I have left as the interim youth speaker at Carlisle BIC. I started my interim on November 7th, 2007 to fill the role of teacher/speaker and two retreats and four months later my time with them has been awesome. The main focus each week has been to bring the teens to a deeper faith and then go wide with the gospel.
Even though it’s been one of my shortest interims I have to admit it ranks right up there as one of the best. The leadership is truly awesome as they work tirelessly to provide the teens with a Christ-centered youth ministry and not an entertainment driven social club. Their hearts are to see each student know Christ, and share their faith with everyone.
And what can I say about the teens themselves…they ROCK! They have been searching deeper and growing deeper. They have been inviting their friends to youth group and sharing their faith. And do you know what has happened? Their friends are putting their faith in Christ alone. AWESOME!!
I’m going to miss showing up each Wednesday to preach, but I’m looking forward to what God is going to do with this youth ministry. I’m praying they will continue to grow deep and go wide with the gospel. And I’m praying for Dan who will be arriving April 1st to take on the awesome job as the new youth pastor at Carlisle BIC.
