The Best of 2007

Happy New Year everyone! Kim and I hope you had an awesome Christmas. As for us we had a great time resting during our week long vacation and celebrating Christmas with Kim’s parents in Northern Michigan. We also visited Brian’s parents and sister in the Altoona area when we made our return trip home. Now with the start of 2008 we are looking forward to what God has in store for us.
But for now we want to take a moment and reflect on the past year. In 2007 we faced some challenges and trials. We learned that even though people and things can sometimes let us down, God never will (Hebrew 13:5). We learned to never trust ourselves or rely on our own methods, especially during the trials (Proverbs 3:5-6). But the most valuable lesson we learned and will continue to learn is that NOTHING should ever come before God (Matthew 6:33). We also experienced some awesome blessings, great opportunities, and new friendships. So I decided to post some of our favorite moments of 2007 (in no particular order).

  • Taking three teens to the Dare2Share conference in Columbus, Ohio. And we’re going again this year.
  • Preaching at the Christian Retreat Center for T.I.M.S. week and staff week.
  • Serving at Purple Door and Vertical Fest
  • Camping with Kim despite the rain. For some reason the rain reigns when the Ford’s go camping.
  • Playing paintball with my friends for my B-day.
  • Moving into our new home
  • Celebrating our nephew’s first birthday
  • Preaching at the Equip Conference
  • Meeting new friends
  • Spending time with teenagers
  • Attending the Casting Crowns concert with our new friends
  • And…another great year with my wife Kim

So…what are some your favorite or best moments of 2007?
