Purple Door 2007 – Part 1
Purple Door…some think it’s awesome…others find it odd…yet others want to avoid it. Whatever you may think or feel about Purple Door the truth is the gospel was given. Yes…even the all black clothes wearing, hard rock listening, nose ring wearing, Mohawk styling teens need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. On Saturday three teens put their faith in Christ alone during a gospel presentation given
at the skate park. Now that’s awesome!
At Purple Door…new friends were made. On Friday while helping to set up for the weekend music festival we met the teens from New Holland Grace Brethren along with their new youth pastor Chris shown here with the lead singer of Anberlin. Just shortly before the photo was taken Chris and his youth spent an hour washing ALL the Ski Round Top vehicles. If you’re not familiar with Purple Door it is held on the grounds of our local ski resort. Chris and his crew volunteered for the special service project to say thank you to Ski Round Top.
At Purple Door…I was honored to bring three teens to spend the weekend as volunteers. They did everything from help set up the stage, pick up trash, work security in various posts, and fold t-shirts for Family Force Five.
Purple Door…was it worth it? Absolutely! Will we go again next year? Absolutely! Will the gospel be given? Absolutely!
