My last post asked a question that was directed to teenagers. Since then I’ve received emails with their answers. Keep in mind there are more answers that can be given beyond the ones listed. As I read the lists emailed to me I saw one common factor, relationships. But we don’t need a “10 reasons why teens attend youth/church” list to understand that teens need, crave, and seek real relationships. They are seeking relationships with adults who truly care and will really listen. They are craving the solid meat of the Gospel as well as a relationship, not a religion. And they need to be surrounded, encouraged and influenced by other teens that are living out their faith.
- My friends go to youth group.
- I like my youth leaders, they listen to me
- To hear my youth pastor preach the Bible
- One reason I go is for the food and plenty of Mt. Dew
- Our mission trip last summer was awesome!
- Because I’ve been going all my life. It’s where my parent’s go.
- I was invited by my friend and have been going ever since.
- Since going to youth group I’ve learned how to understand and read my Bible
- I really like the praise & worship
- I look forward to three big event each year; Summer Camp, Winter Retreat and Dare2Share because I’ve met a lot of new friends.
